In this article, we'll cover where to find your API key, and we'll give you an explanation on what an API key does and what it can be used for.
Where do I find my API Keys?
You can find your API key on your account management, under the Integrations tab.
Note: generating a new API key will make all previously used API keys disabled.
What do API keys do?
API stands for application programming interface. It can be helpful to think of the API as a way for different apps to talk to one another. For many users, the main interaction with the API will be through API keys, which allow other apps to access your account without you giving out your password.
API keys grant full access to your QuestionScout account and should be protected the same way you would protect your password. In particular, there are a few common scenarios to keep in mind when working with API keys.
- Be careful not to share your API key publically.
- If you generate a new API key, all previously used API keys will become not usable.
